Who We Are

Consisting of Al Dente and Lester Moore, Vanilla Pop is part Vegas style lounge act, part satire and all fun.  We are an exciting and diverse performance oriented show, covering 40’s standards and disco hits as well as Eighties classics and TV themes.  Vanilla Pop does  all your faves with a style all their own.

Always wanted to hear Sinatra sing "Walk like an Egyptian"?,  John Wayne sing "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'?"-    well Vanilla Pop is where your favorite artists and songs come together in a match made in Las Vegas heaven.

Where We’re From

Mr Alphonse Dentenofski ..."Al Dente"

Originally from New York City and a twelve year resident of Taos New Mexico, Al is an established keyboard player (Los Otros, Man Overboard, Tsunami Squad et. al.) and experienced actor (Fame, Hair, and several Off Broadway flops).

He studied music and drama at New York’s High School of Performing Arts, and continued to refine his talents at the State University of New York for several years afterward. In addition to several film credits he has also been doing voiceover work on radio for the past 20 years.

Lester Moore... "Lester Moore"

Hailing from "Hot"lanta GA, Lester brought his guitar and unique singing ability to Taos in the fall of 2000. His previous credits include several indie film scores as well as longstanding local success with his original band – "Fancy ".

Les has a finely tuned style developed from many musical influences including the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead and David Bowie. His vocal talent reflects the best parts of these artists and has proven to be an indispensable asset to Vanilla Pop.

What We Can Do For You

Since its’ inception back in the fall of 2002, Vanilla Pop has taken off better than we could have ever anticipated. We appeal to a very wide audience, and we are getting rave reviews from crowds and the press alike. The dance floor is packed as we bring back the standards of the forties and crank it up for the classics of the eighties -all with a little bit of Vegas Flair.

Vanilla Pop is a complete self-contained act, with stage lighting, gold lame, pink flamingos, sequins, sharkskin suits and bubble machine. Combine our extremely visual presentation with expert musicianship, and you have a fun-filled, interactive evening your guests will never forget. Watch out for Al- he loves to walk through the crowd…crooning his way into the hearts of our fans.

We pay attention to every detail of the act. From the artificial flowers to the quality of the bubbles, you can be assured that Vanilla Pop will be an act your guests will remember and cherish for a long time.

Vanilla Pop is available for night gigs, apres-ski, private functions, Tupperware parties or any other occasion where good humor and great music are desired.
